Feraligatr used Surf by Pixelated-Takkun Feraligatr used Surf by Pixelated-Takkun
EDIT: You can get the print HERE www.etsy.com/listing/162455129…

So the original was almost 3 years old, so I recently did some touchups and made this piece completely traditional~ the white effect was made using a signo pigment ink white pen :3

So this is the first of my series of Pokemon using moves xD
I'm drawing my whole team from Pokemon Black and White.

ALL colored with Copic Ciao Markers

First up is my Feraligatr using Surf heh heh.

He's Level 56,
Moves are,

Surf, Crunch, Earthquake, and Ice Beam.

The rest of my team are:

Gengar, Lvl 74, moves are,

Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Dark Pulse, and Hex.

Arcanine, Lvl 57, moves are,

Extremespeed, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, and Flame Burst.

Sazandora, Lvl 74, moves are,

Crunch, Dragonbreath, Fly, Hyper Voice.

Daikenki, Lvl 60, moves are,

Shell Blade, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Revenge.

and my black Charizard, Lvl 100, moves are,

Fire Blast, Blast Burn, Fly, Dragon Claw.

Not sure which one I'll draw next so lemme know which one I should draw next and using which move :3

I was really impressed at first sight at the great technique this artist puts into water and fire, I've always been a fan of the dripping and fast mark making style in art. This artist makes great use of that, not just in this work but in many of his pieces displayed.

The character itself is in great form and looks symmetrical enough to be appealing to the eyes and stays very true to the official look of the original.

This particular move has also always been a great one to look at in every game so far and this piece does a great job of showing how the character begins to bring his energy into a wave. This alongside the great background with a personal style used on the clouds adds to this piece making it a great one as a whole.

However the effect on the wave itself, specially seen on the left side of the character makes it look like the wave is almost translucent enough for the background water to be seen clearly through it, I don't know if this appearance was done purposely to show the thinness of the water, since the wave is barely starting but nonetheless this does little to make this piece any less impressive.

I am also a very big fan of the subject of this piece since my first starter was a Totodile which eventually evolved to a Ferraligatr much like the one shown here.

All in all, a great piece and I just hope the artist continues to make great pieces like this while all the same keeping each piece unique and with its own emotion to demonstrate.
What do you think?

I like the coluring effects to it...in the way you faded the water by the monster's hand and other areas... Im tryng to figure out how you blended the wave background to llok see through where you can see the ocean behind the monster...

Sazandora is the Japanese name for Hydreigon, and Daikenki is Samurott :) I played through the Japanese versions of Black and White so I became more familiar with the Japanese names, I was embarrassed because I didn't know all of the English names when it first came out in North America ^^;
