Description

Had some free time today so I finished this guy... part of my Smash Series! I wanted to give this piece the whole Kanto vibe, so I thought it'd be cool to have it as Pokemon Stadium from Melee and Brawl mixed, with the opening scene on the screens and Saffron City in the background. I'm looking forward to the rest of the year, since it's the 20th anniversary of Pokemon you guys can expect some big Pokemon pieces from me in the coming year ;)

I'm open for commissions so if you're interested in a custom piece feel free to message me for info!

The composition is amazing. Kanto is where it all began with Gengar vs nidorino and you have placed them so the Melee Pokemon Colosseum TV reflects their original battle in the title screen. The subtle yet potent Silph Co building also brings us back to a simpler time on the Nintendo 64 when Charizard was simply a Pokeball addition to the smashverse.

Charizard's pose is power itself and his muscle definition adds drama to this pose. His flaming claw divides the piece with flames covering the right and nostalgia covering the left. The starry sky also reminds us of the power of Charizard's ability to fly into the sky for his seismic toss attack but also to discover new worlds.

You have made a Pokemon and Smash veteran very happy today
